Helping Others

Ray and Joan Kroc CenterThe other day, I went to the new The Salvation Army & Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Camden, NJ with my dad. I helped out by giving clothes that didn’t fit me anymore, and I also donated adult clothes along with toys and dolls. It felt really good knowing that the things I didn’t use anymore wouldn’t just be thrown out; someone else would get use out of them too.

This facility was recently opened in October 2014, and upon getting the tour, I saw that this new facility was not only bigger, but better than it’s previous facility. It had everything from a fitness center to a swimming pool to a computer lab and so much more!

I really liked seeing this new charitable place where people who didn’t normally get the chance to do things like swim in an indoor pool or take a yoga class could go to do these things.

The people who ran it were really friendly and kind and they are so generous and giving to those who don’t have as much as we do. I really appreciate them giving me the tour so if you are reading this Salvation Army thank you so much!!!

Anyways, I learned a lot about not only Salvation Army but also about different ways I could give and help people. Thanks for reading about my newest HOP activity!
